How books change the way we think?

Page by page, and chapter by chapter, every book has changed my way of thinking, bit by bit.

Let me illustrate this line by line…

This book taught me that I have a limited quota for the things I can actually care about. I should carefully choose those things.

Via this book, John Green changed the way I used to think about infinities. Now I know that some infinities are bigger than the other infinities. I realized how death is inevitable, and so is the pain; that the pain demands to be felt.

The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris

Via this book, Tim Ferris changed the way I look at the money and business now. I realized how important it is to consider the efforts made to evaluate someone’s salary. I also realized that there’s a significant difference in being busy and being productive.

Eat That Frog- by Brian Tracy

This book changed the way I do things. Now I do the most important and toughest task the first thing in the morning. I have also started planning on paper now.

Superhuman by habit | By Tynan

This book changed my way of creating any new habits. I realized how easily we can cultivate a new habit if we follow certain rules regularly.

Attitude is Everything

This book taught me that the Attitude is everything. Even in the worst cases, you have an option to choose your attitude: how’d you respond to that problem.

To Cancer, with Love: By Neelam Kumar

I would never have thought that you could be fighting with cancer, and yet you can spread smiles! That’s what Neelam Kumar did. She was diagnosed with cancer, was going through the whole treatment, and yet managed to write this beautiful and witty semi-fiction book!

The Joy of Less

Philosophical books need not be just philosophy, you can actually offer practical tips in a philosophy book. This book inspired me with this thought.

So, I chose a philosophy (Stoicism) and compiled my personal notes and some practical tips into an ebook with the title- A Stoic’s Diary

Factotum: by Charles Bukowski

Bukowski made me realize how hard it is to copy his writing style.

I Am A Sea Of Possibilities

Via this book, Neelam Kumar made me realize that our happiness is just a couple of colouring pages away.

These are just a couple of examples. Anyway, the thumb rule is-

The more I read, the more every good book changes my way of thinking.
