Gratitude over hatred

Hate is a strong word, first of all, to begin with.

But we feel it anyway. Somebody does something we never expect them to. Maybe they hurt us unintentionally, and we are filled with rage and hatred for them.

It’s our body’s defence mechanism. And it’s all natural.

“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you’re the one who gets burned.” (Buddha)

So what’s the answer to letting go of this feeling of hatred?

The answer is gratitude.

Counting on the thankful experiences we had with the same person — that’s how we are going to let go of all the hatred we are feeling.

Breathe, calm down your nerves, and say “thank you” out loud to the moments you had had with the same person.

To remind myself of this quote, I have mentioned it in my Instagram profile bio.

“Gratitude over hatred”
